Internship & Camp Counselors
Our Pal's Place offers an Animal Advocate Internship 10th - graduating high school seniors and college students. Interns are selected based on interviews and are eligible to be Camp Counselors after successfully completing training. This is a great way to have a fun-filled summer working with rescued animals and teaching kids while earning service hours and receiving a letter of recommendation. This is also an excellent program for those who want to better understand animal welfare and are interested in an animal-related, teaching or business administration career.
Intern Program Description:
Interns at Our Pal’s Place are role model animal advocates to youth who attend our programs offered throughout the year. Interns are familiar with the solutions to current animal welfare problems (taught during training) and maintain a positive, upbeat attitude during all discussions. During Camp O.P.P., interns serve as camp counselors and assist campers with hands-on activities with the animals. During learning and game time, camp counselors can assist with conducting the activities or hang out with the animal residents in our Pet Adoption Facility. Camp Counselors work together to determine who works which weeks of camp. Camp Counselors are encouraged to work as many weeks of camp as possible … it's a lot of fun! ... but are required to work a minimum of 3-4 weeks of the 9 weeks of camp.
